Hey everyone. I'm thinking about gearing a prot paladin to do maximum damage reflection, using a few unique pieces of gear. I've tried googling to my hearst content but I can't find any decent list of damage reflection items available in Vanilla. There is a small chance with each spell cast that you will lose 1 durability point to your weapon. There is a small chance with each hit absorbed by your armor that it will lose 1 durability point. When you die, 10% durability is lost on all equipped items (that have a durability rating). This is 10% of maximum durability, not remaining durability. Thankfully though, you can buy WoW battle pets through our platform, you can also buy WoW consumable items and you may even buy WoW container that you can use to store your valuable items in. On top of that, you can also buy cheap WoW gold and cheap WoW items of all sorts at PlayerAuctions, in a safe and reliable way.

Looking for some great Classic WoW addons? One of the features that has changed dramatically since World of Warcraft launched nearly 16 years ago is how much players are willing to alter the basic user interface to streamline the experience and eradicate even the smallest inconveniences.
In vanilla WoW, player additions to how WoW looked and gave them feedback and information were very limited. Some offered a svelte way to report additional information across the top or bottom of the screen. Others provided small, discreet windows with additional displays, whether they were for specific Classic WoW classes, or to track an item that was obscured in the default UI.
Today players tweak nearly every part of the game’s interface. All-in-one packages such as ElvUI change everything from the minimap and spell bars, to damage and healing numbers, and even the chat logs. Some of that is because WoW’s default UI is in desperate need of an overhaul, given that modern principles of usability weren’t pervasive 16 years ago. Some is because today’s Warcraft players are more familiar with the game and technically savvy about what mods can do and how to install them.
The good news for modern players returning to Classic WoW is that addons now exist to provide at least a few contemporary conveniences to the original version of the game. While nothing will provide all the quality of life improvements WoW itself has added over the years to one of the best MMOs of all time, these will give you a few important windows into modern life – nostalgia ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.
Here are a few of our favourites:
DEADLY BOSS MODS – CLASSIC
Deadly Boss Mods is a must-have WoW addon for 2020 players who participate in group dungeon and raid content, so we’re grateful there’s a WoW Classic addon version. It gives you warnings for events that are happening during boss-fight encounters, timers for when the next events in the fight are going to happen, and advice for what to do as a result.
DBM-Classic comes with voice packs in English, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Korean along with a couple of packs spliced together from celebrity voice tracks. It includes timers and information for the five-man dungeons Deadmines, Wailing Caverns, Shadowfang Keep, The Stockade, Ragefire Chasm, Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul, Razorfen Downs, Gnomeregan, Uldaman, Scarlet Monastery, and Zul’Farrak. The developer notes that functionality for the vanilla WoW raids has been built, but couldn’t be tested during the Classic Beta due to level caps.
Auctionator Classic
This simple addon for the WoW Classic Auction House won’t help newcomers, but will save trade veterans a lot of time and effort by simplifying inputs, searches, and letting you spam the buy button to purchase in bulk. If you plan on making a lot of gold through the AH then this is a great time-saving WoW Classic addon.
QUESTIE CLASSIC
Questie attempts to provide one of the most useful features of modern WoW’s map UI: the ability to see where quest objectives and turn-ins are located. This WoW Classic addon is still a bit of a work in progress, but it solves one of the most frustrating aspects of Classic WoW. Quest descriptions in vanilla varied widely in their wayfinding tips, so sometimes the area where the thing you were supposed to find/kill/collect wasn’t immediately obvious.
More help in vanilla: Here’s our Classic WoW leveling guide
In addition, Questie attempts to add tooltips to quest-related mobs (also like modern WoW) and to show quests that are available and not yet completed by you. It’s an essential mod for Classic players.

OMNICC CLASSIC
OmniCC is a lightweight little mod that adds digital countdowns to pretty much everything that has a cooldown in World of Warcraft: your spells, your abilities, even items in your inventory. Providing much more specific information than the traditional analog timer sweep in Classic, this vanilla WoW addon allows you to make intelligent decisions about what you can do next when you’re in a fight.
It turns out that the Live version of OmniCC works perfectly in Classic, so a helpful developer dressed it up and reposted it for vanilla players. As a note, this means that you can download the current version as well, if you like, as long as you enable out-of-date addons in Classic WoW (so that the version number doesn’t trip up your install.
DETAILS! DAMAGE METER CLASSIC
The features of Details! remain largely the same from Live to Classic. The video below shows the basic features of this incredibly deep combat damage and healing information gathering and display mod.
Back in the day you could raid every instance available in Vanilla WoW, including original Naxxramas, and somehow make it through without a damage meter. But we’d rather not have to go through that again today: so much of min-maxing your character in Live is about figuring out how to better yourself by seeing what works and what doesn’t, and you don’t have to give up that information in WoW Classic thanks to this addon.

Details! is a common, complete damage-and-healing meter in the current game, and this is the Classic version. It collects all information available from the combat logs from the game and presents them in a legible easy bar-chart format, either for an overall encounter or for a particular ‘segment’ or boss fight. You can drill in on a particular character to see what they cast and where their damage came from, which is useful if you’re not keeping up, or are leading a raid and want to understand why one person is performing well or poorly.
Leatrix Plus
Leatrix Plus is an incredibly convenient collection of quality of life improvements. You’ll have to head over to the Leatrix Plus mod page for the full list, but some of the features include automatic junk selling, a customisable minimap, visible durability status, cooldowns, and free bag slots. It also includes automatic stand and dismount so you don’t get prevented from casting, faster looting, and auto-accept on quests, summons, and resurrection.
Exorsus Raid Tools
This addon is a must for raiders, particularly raid leaders. It contains several different modules to provide a wealth of information on the raid, including all the cooldowns, the fight logs, status of battle resurrection, a timer, and a useful note section to send helpful information and/or furious chastisement to all raid members. Exorsus Raid Tools also allows you to inspect all the raid members and check them for buffs to make sure everyone is present and correct.
- 'Repair' redirects here. For the Pet Battle ability, see [Repair].
Durability is a property of equippable items that determines how much damage they can take before being broken. Broken items can always be repaired; gear never breaks permanently. Durability damage is not the same as normal damage.
When using the tracking system with the minimap NPCs that can repair will appear with an anvil () at their locations.
All armor slots take durability loss excluding: Neck, Tabard, Back, Finger, and Trinket slots.
Heirloom items do not suffer durability loss, making repair bills slightly cheaper for characters with heirlooms.

Repairing items
Any NPC who sells weapons or armor (or Blacksmithing supplies) can repair durability.
- As of Patch 2.3, your pointer changes when you move it over a repair-capable NPC:
- interact with repairing vendorrepairing vendor out of range
- Repair all items (button should look like an anvil with a gold +).
- Repair a single item (button should look like a hammer).
- The 'repair all items' button also repairs items on your inventory. It's useful after you've lost durability on them by resurrecting at a Spirit Healer
- If you belong to a guild and have the required access, you can also use your guild's funds to repair (there is a specific button to do this, to the right of the 'Repair all' one.
Item repair is not currently an available skill for Player Characters, but engineers can craft repair bots.
Repair cost
The base cost to repair an uncommon armor piece (no weapons or shields) assuming you are neutral with the vendor is:
- Durability points to be repaired * (ilevel - 32.5) * 0.02 silver
The base cost to repair a rare armor piece (no weapons or shields) assuming you are neutral with the vendor is:
- Durability points to be repaired * (ilevel - 32.5) * 0.025 silver
The base cost to repair an epic armor piece (no weapons or shields) assuming you are neutral with the vendor is:
Wow Items That Dmg You Have
- Durability points to be repaired * (ilevel - 32.5) * 0.05 silver
The reputation discounts are taken from the prices above as follows: 5% for friendly, 10% for honored, 15% for revered and 20% for exalted.
Durability loss
The following situations can reduce an item's durability:
- Being in combat at all will cause all equipped items to gradually lose durability, regardless of whether any damage is taken or dealt.
- There is a small chance with each hit by your weapon that it will lose 1 durability point.
- There is a small chance with each spell cast that you will lose 1 durability point to your weapon.
- There is a small chance with each hit absorbed by your armor that it will lose 1 durability point.
- When you die, 10% durability is lost on all equipped items (that have a durability rating). This is 10% of maximum durability, not remaining durability. You will not lose 10% durability on death if you are killed in PvP combat by another player (if a PvP flagged guard or other NPC kills you, you still lose durability) or if your death is suicide through using an item or spell that kills you (this excludes environmental damage, such as falling) or if the death is due to an encounter's mechanic (like tanking Steelbreaker with him dying as the last member - Meltdown).
- When you use the services of a Spirit Healer, you lose 25% durability on all equipped items and items in your bags, on top of the 10% durability loss on your equipped items you already lost when you died.
Low durability
Durability icons
From Blizzard: 'Items remain at full effectiveness until they have no durability. Their power does not degrade.'[1]
When the durability on a specific item drops below 25%, a small stick figure (looks like an armored soldier) appears below the Mini-Map and the corresponding part of the stick figure (head, shoulders, chest, etc.) appears in yellow.
When the durability on a specific item reaches 0%, the corresponding part of the stick figure (head, shoulders, chest, etc.) appears in red. Once the durability of the item reaches 0%, the player can still wear or wield the item, but he does not receive any stat benefits (stats, resistances or armor). If a weapon breaks though, you fight as if unarmed. Items cannot permanently break!
Note: if the broken item is a set item, the set bonuses will still be active.
Maximum durability
The maximum durability of an item depends on its quality, its type (slot, armor type, weapon type) and for items of level 28 and lower also on item level. The tables below show the durability of items of item level 29 and higher.
Slot | Poor, common, and uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
---|---|---|---|---|
hands/waist/wrist | 40 | 50 | 55 | 70 |
feet | 55 | 65 | 80 | 95 |
head/shoulder | 70 | 85 | 100 | 120 |
legs | 85 | 100 | 120 | 145 |
chest | 115 | 140 | 165 | 200 |
Slot | Poor, common, and uncommon | Rare | Epic | Legendary |
---|---|---|---|---|
wand, dagger, fist weapon[n 1] | 55/75 | 65/90 | 80 | 95 |
bow, crossbow, gun[n 2] | 65/85 | 75/80/100 | 90/95/120 | 145 |
1h-axe, 1h-sword, 1h-mace | 75 | 90 | 110[n 3] | 130 |
shield, staff, polearm, 2h-mace, 2h-sword, 2h-axe | 85 | 100 | 120 | 145 |
- ^Some wands have higher durability.
- ^Some items have lower durability.
- ^[Dragonmaw] being the only exception with 105.
Calculation
The numbers presented in the previous section can also be calculated reasonably well using the following formulae.
Armor
For all 20 possible combinations of type and quality, this formula correctly calculates the durability:
- Durability = 5 x round(25 x Cquality x Ctype)
With Cquality and Ctype according to these values:
Wow Items That Dmg You Tube
Quality | Cquality |
---|---|
legendary | 1.76 |
epic | 1.43 |
rare | 1.20 |
uncommon | 1.00 |
common | 1.00 |
poor | 1.00 |
Slot | Ctype |
---|---|
hand/waist/wrist | 0.32 |
feet | 0.44 |
shoulder/head | 0.55 |
legs | 0.66 |
chest | 0.92 |
Wow Items That Dmg Youtube
Weapons and Shields
There is a similar formula that can be used to calculate the durability of weapons and shields which correctly calculates the durability for all weapons, except for epic two-handers and shields, for which the value is 5 points too low:
- Durability = 5 x round(17 x Cquality x Cwtype)
With Cwtype according to these values:
Type | Cquality |
---|---|
wand, dagger, fist weapon | 0.65[w 1] |
bow, crossbow, gun | 0.79[w 2] |
1h-axe, 1h-sword, 1h-mace | 0.9 |
shield, staff, polearm, 2h-mace, 2h-sword, 2h-axe | 1.00 |
- ^Some wands use a Cquality value of 0.9.
- ^Some items use a Cquality value of 1.00.
Patch changes
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Cloth, leather, and mail now have as many points of durability as plate, making the repair cost on death much closer to equal for all classes.
- Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): The cost per point of durability to repair plate, chain, and leather items has been reduced to be equal to the cost of repairing cloth items of the same quality.
- Patch 1.3.0 (2005-03-07): Fixed bug where melee weapon abilities were causing durability damage to ranged weapons.
